The Short Version
Bastet does not collect, store, or share your personal information. No account is required. No data leaves your device. This is intentional.
What Bastet Does Not Collect
- Your name, email address, or any identifying information.
- Your location — your device determines your location locally and it is never transmitted to us.
- Your search history or app usage patterns.
- Any data about what you do inside the app.
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools of any kind.
What Bastet Does
- When you tap "Find Help Now," your device uses its own location services to calculate distance to nearby shelters. That calculation happens on your device. Your location is never sent to Marble Ceilings or any third party.
- Shelter information is stored locally within the app. We do not maintain a server that receives requests from your device when you use the app.
Your Device
Bastet requests location permission to find nearby shelters. You may deny this permission — the app will still provide shelter listings, hotlines, and resources without it.
Bastet does not store any information between sessions. Closing the app leaves no trace of your activity.
Quick Exit
The Quick Exit button closes Bastet immediately and removes it from your recent apps. This feature is designed to protect your privacy if your device is monitored or shared.
Children
Bastet is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to This Statement
If we update this privacy statement, we will update the effective date above. We will not introduce data collection practices without providing clear notice.
